Where has the week gone? Another busy week here in Lion class.

For the last two weeks in our maths lessons, we have been working on a unit of work about statistics. We have become pretty good at reading and interpreting things like line graphs, tables, pie charts and timetables. We have also learnt to find the mean of a set of data.

Thursday was World Book Day! Many of us entered the book character fruit/veg competition. There were some amazing efforts and it was so hard to pick a winner. Well done to Toni-Rose and Beth who were chosen from Year 5 and 6. In the morning, we also did a ‘Book tasting’, tried to guess the teachers in an extremely difficult photo quiz and joined the BBC Live Lesson. In the afternoon we enjoyed reading to some of the younger children, as we all met in the hall for our BIG READ.

Here are some photographs of our competition entries. Can you recognise any of the characters we have chosen?

Today we have faced the challenge of a knowledge organiser quiz. For the last couple of weeks, we have been revising some key history facts about Ancient Egypt and today we were tested on our knowledge. We had some fantastic results. Well done everyone!

We have put such a lot of effort this week into writing our information texts about the circulatory system. We have been working hard to ensure they are top quality and include all the necessary features of a non-fiction text. We are really proud of our work.

In our independent work this week, we have been producing fabulous work about pyramids. Some of us are making PowerPoints, some posters, some leaflets and some Word documents- a whole range of outcomes!

Please join us next time for more news from Lion class.
