Welcome back to Zebras Blog...end of term 2!

On Tuesday 22nd March, we went to the Creative Arts festival at Sharnbrook.  We had face paint, some of us had hair colour and we designed our own T-shirts for our costumes.  They looked amazing. We all did our dance to some music called 'Let's Go Crazy' from Sing 2. Our parents came to watch the show and it was very late. They and all the teachers were very proud of us.  We got to watch the other schools perform from our green room on a big screen. We enjoyed it very much.

The Friends Association had another movie night after school Thursday.  Some of us went and we watched Encanto, had popcorn, a hotdog and a bottle of juice.  Some of us changed into our pyjamas to watch the movie.  It was a good time.

On Monday 28th March we had a very special Fab Finish with Chestnuts from Thurleigh joining us here at our school.  We introduced Chestnuts to our 'Revolting Restaurant' of recipes from the Roald Dahl books. We made Angel Delight to represent Charlie's chocolate from the river in his factory.  We decorated cakes for Snozzcumbers. We made Marvellous medicine vegetable soup.  We tried it lumpy and smooth.  We also drank some James and the Giant peach juice.  We played some games in the hall with Miss Calvert.  One of our favourite games was the one where we had to roll a die to a 6, put on some silly clothes and try to eat a chocolate bar with a knife and fork.  We played a game where we had to make up a family photo, one where we had to sculpt our partner into a character from Roald Dahl. We really enjoyed meeting the Chestnuts class and getting to know them before we all go to Grafham together.

Reverend Tim came in on Tuesday and did an Easter assembly with us.  The year 4s read a poem about Jesus.  They did a great job even though they had only got the poem that morning.

On Wednesday, Greenwood won the half termly house points competition and got to bring in an unhealthy treat snack for breaktime.

On Thursday 31st March was our big Sing On concert at the Bedford Corn Exchange with lots of other schools.  We went in the afternoon to practise and rehearse as a group and then had our tea in our green room and did the concert in the evening. We didn't find it too scary even though there was a big audience because we had done a few things like this before.  We sang with a live band playing and we got to meet the man called Marcel who had written all the songs we sang.  We also got to hear a rock band play.   Some of us found it nerve wracking, but we enjoyed it.

Friday, the last day of term was the last day for Mrs Collier.  It was really sad to say goodbye, but we gave her a great leaving assembly.  We sang her a song and some of us shared our favourite memories of being in her class.  We managed to bring tears to Mrs Collier's eyes as it was so touching.  We gave her a candle and some presents to remember us.  She will hopefully come back to visit us.

Thank you for reading Zebra News.  Have a good Easter break.
