Dear parents and carers,
We have been having a busy two weeks getting as clever as we can possibly be for our ‘special quizzes’ next week.
We haven’t forgotten our Topic though! As you can see from the photo, children have been very creative at home – in relation to our topic…
This shows Erin’s lovely octopus puppet that she made at home. Erin brought it in to show in Achievement Assembly. We love seeing your creations but quite a few Meerkats children don’t often bring anything in for Achievement Assembly.
So, it would be fabulous to see more of you sharing your news of achievements from home. It doesn’t have to be something you’ve made, it could be anything. For examples: managing a really long walk (or run), learning a new skill or helping your mum for the whole day to paint the garden fence! Whatever it is, we would absolutely love to hear about or see your accomplishments.
Since we last wrote, there has been lots of going on…including an amazing Coronation Kymbrook’s Got Talent show. The children all enjoyed this - as well as, of course, the delicious picnic! Thank you to all the mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunties/uncles/carers who helped to make this a wonderful occasion.
This term we have been learning about the history of seaside holidays. Thank you to all the children and their parents who supported their child in bringing in some seaside objects. These included some suncream, some lovely old postcards, a body board and fishing net, a sand bottle souvenir and a Minnie Mouse swimming costume. Our history learning will culminate in two weeks time on Friday 26th May (at the end of this half term) with a visitor telling us all about the wonderful holidays she had when she was a little girl…read a few weeks later to find out who is the special visitor!
Thank you for reading our blog.
Wish us luck in our ‘special quizzes’ next week!
