Kymbrook Primary School

Friday 8th October

Welcome to Lion Class blog.

It’s been a funny old week as we have so many missing friends who are at home. We can’t wait for everyone to be back. We were also sorry this week that we had to pull out of a tag rugby competition in Bedford, due to our cases.

In our topic work we have been learning about WWII Evacuation. We carried out some research, listened to some first-hand accounts and then wrote and presented our own news reports.

On Thursday it was National Poetry Day. We had some fun writing our own poems called ‘Dream Day’. A chocolate, sweet, pancake, waffle, ice cream creation seemed to be a very popular breakfast choice for our dream day.

Our Computing unit for this half term is coding and it is proving quite a challenge! Monday afternoons are our computing lessons and this week we had our brains well and truly scrambled…! But we didn’t give up.

Our PSHE work at the moment has the theme of TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More). This week we had to collaborate on a task, which was to write a song about our school. Lots of giggles and embarrassed singing followed.

Mrs Smith spent our music lesson on Monday trying to get us into the rock groove as our Charanga song this half term is ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ by Bon Jovi. Some of us need to learn how to ‘rock out’ as we are a bit too proper at the moment!!

Thank you for all your kind donations towards the work of both King's Arms Project in Bedford and Crisis for our Harvest. We are working on a couple of items for our scaled down Harvest Festival and will get these on Seesaw soon.

More news next week, cheerio

P.S. We are reliably informed that we have a VIP fan who reads our blog on the school website every single week without fail. We just wanted to say, “HELLO!”, and thank you for taking an interest in what we are doing.
