School Day

At Kymbrook, we work on the system of a ‘basic skills’ morning and a creative curriculum afternoon. School starts at 9.00 when the children line up on the playground and are collected by staff and taken into their classrooms.

We are organised into four classes: 

Monkeys - Reception and Year 1 children 

Meerkats - Year 2 children 

Zebras - Year 3 & 4 children  

Lions - Year 5 & Year 6 children

Our School Day

Timetables vary between classes, but may follow this basic form:

8:00am From 8:00 a.m. Breakfast Club children begin to arrive in school.
8:50a.m From 8:50a.m. members of staff enter the playground to enable parents to drop children off safely into our care. Please park in the Village Hall Car Park and use the crossing provided.
9.00a.m At 9:00a.m. all the children line up in their class lines to begin their school day.
9:10-9:30 a.m The children partake in phonics, reading or grammar activities.
9:30-10:30a.m Maths
10:30 - 10:45 a.m Assemblies - Friday is Celebration Assembly children can bring achievements from home to share e.g. swimming certificates, trophies, experiences like learning to ride a bike etc.
10:45-11:00a.m Playtime.
11:00-11:30 a.m Everyone Reading In Class ( E.R.I.C.)
11:30-12:00p.m English, phonics, grammar, handwriting
12:00-1:00p.m Lunch time.
1:00-3:15p.m

We use our Pupil focussed Topics to teach all Foundation Subjects, Science, R.E. and I.C.T.

Our sports coach from Premier Sport visit twice a week to teach PE. We have a specialist French teacher who teaches KS2 children on Fridays.
