Happy New Year! The weeks have skipped by and now there are only two more until half term!
We have been working very hard in all our lessons. In English, we have been reading a brilliant book called 'Holes', which we are all enjoying. There has been lots of new maths to learn, including long multiplication and division and multiplying and dividing fractions. In science, we are learning about the solar system and in art we are working on group 'street-art-inspired' pieces to fill some areas around the school.
We are continuing to build our knowledge of grammar and are enjoying using resources from Natural Curriculum, as each lesson begins with the hook of a short BBC natural history animal video. We are also continuing to do our whole class guided reading lessons three times a week, which exposes us to lots of different texts.
In our geography lessons we have been learning about deserts: the physical and human features as well as threats to deserts.
One thing we are all excited about is the introduction of Individual Points cards, by our lovely Head teacher Ms Brown. We earn them for brilliant work, showing the values, working hard etc. Once we have 25 points, we are presented with a fantastic bronze badge in our Friday achievement assembly. We wear these proudly until we earn the next 25 points and then they are swapped for a silver badge! After this, there is the chance we could earn a gold badge and then finally a platinum badge.
