Kymbrook Primary School

Welcome Back September 2021-2022

Welcome to our first Lion Class blog for the new school year.

We have had a great first week back and we certainly hit the ground running! On Wednesday we went on our first visit for a long time- to the 306 Bombardment Museum on Thurleigh airfield. This was our ‘Stunning Start’ to our new topic for this term, World War Two. We had two brilliant guides, John and Mark who were very welcoming and answered all our questions.

In Maths lessons we have been doing some baseline assessments. Year 6 have coped brilliantly with trying out some SATs papers. Mrs Smith is very proud of us all.

We have also made a start on our first Independent task for this year, which is to research all sorts of numbers relating to WWII- we have found out some amazing and shocking facts.

We have welcomed a new teaching assistant this week- Mrs Wiggins works across both Kymbrook and Thurleigh supporting children in different classes.

On Tuesday, we were excited to have our first lesson of Forest School with Ranger Nina and Ranger Carly. After playing some warm up games, we all made bracelets using sugar paper and a strip of double sided sticky tape. It was really fun.

We are all SUPER excited for next week as we are going on our residential to the Frontier Centre. News about that next week!
