Kymbrook Primary School

Welcome Back September 2021-2022

Hello Everyone!

What a fabulous first week back it has been.

We have all settled back into school life with ease and…as it has been really warm for most of the time, it has been super to get out on the field with all the other classes! It has been wonderful to be back together again at playtimes and assemblies!

Today we had our first Celebration together as a school for the first time since March 2020…that is a long time ago! It was lovely to sing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday children, to celebrate each other’s achievements and to hear about forthcoming events in school.

Here in Meerkats we have been settling into the routines of the class and learning where everything is, reminding ourselves about our Kymbrook values and generally getting used to how some things that may be a little bit different now we are in a brand new class. It is really exciting though and everyone seems really happy and are enjoying the new topic which is all about animals! It is called “Let’s go Wild!”. We have already read quite a few animal stories and we’ve begun our Topic Science work too - as well as even doing some great drawings and trying out some fun animal stamps!

In Maths we have been counting forwards and backwards with numbers to 50, “greater than”, “less than” and tens and ones; using equipment to help us understand these ideas in a hands-on way.

We have had a lovely first week back. Mrs Morel is really pleased with how we have all settled in so well.

Look out for messages about our Stunning Start Day coming up soon!
