Kymbrook Primary School

Friday 12th November 2021

Welcome to our blog for this week.

This week we have had the first meetings of our new committees- School Council, Wellbeing Ambassadors and Safety Squad. Each of the groups of pupils made a plan of action for the coming months. More news to follow!

Forest School on Tuesday was really fun (the best we’ve had so far!). We got to choose between three options: making nature crowns, den building and spring bulb planting. Den building was probably the most popular, with some fabulous team work on display. Mrs Smith is not sure that she would actually like to spend a night in any of the dens though!

This week, our brainy Y6 children have been getting to grips with long division. Some of us weren’t sure to start with, but we are getting there, slowly but surely.

On Thursday, Rev Tim came to lead us in an Act of Remembrance. The whole school gathered on the playground to mark this important event. Our class had learned by heart the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’, which we recited beautifully. Year 3 and 4 then read a poem in reply to ours. We listened to ‘The Last Post’ and had our two-minute silence. It was a very special occasion.

Finally, we have been frantically revising for a history test! We have had lots of WWII facts to learn and today, Mrs Smith will be testing us on our knowledge.

That’s all for this week- thanks for reading
