Welcome to another weekly blog from Lion class

We are not sure where this week has gone!

In our English work we have started a new unit of work based on a brilliant animation called 'Beyond the Lines'. This is based on the D-Day landings, which is what we have also learned about in our history lesson. Mrs Smith was super impressed with the quality of the writing we have produced this week- particularly with the focus on 'show not tell'. This is where we have to describe how a character is feeling, rather than saying how they are feeling. These are pretty tricky techniques, but they add such sparkle to our writing!

In maths, we have been doing some end of block assessments in place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These are all the topics we have covered so far since September.

This week we have been marking Anti-Bullying week. The theme for this year was 'ONE KIND WORD', so we discussed this theme and thought about how we could demonstrate this in our lives. We made posters with our own choice of message, which we shared in Achievement assembly on Friday.

More news next week.
