Welcome to the next Lion class blog.

We have had a busy first week back after half term and the week started with very wild and windy weather. Luckily we were able to have Forest School on Tuesday and lots of us enjoyed playing in some big puddles, making a bridge and some small boats.

We have done some science learning this week, finding out all about the circulatory system. Some of the facts we have discovered have been truly mind blowing! Did you know that all of your blood vessels could go around the world two and a half times! Also, our bodies make two million new blood cells every SECOND!

On Tuesday, we finished our PSHE unit called ‘Money Matters’. We learnt a bit about spending, saving and borrowing and also about tax. It helped us to start to understand how important knowing about money is.

On Monday, we started our new music unit, which is based on the brilliant song ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. Several of us already knew quite a few words, but we all learnt it together.

In our reading sessions we have been looking at the poem ‘The Highwayman’ by Alfred Noyes. We found it quite challenging to start with, partly because of the unfamiliar vocabulary, but we enjoyed the story once we got into it (despite the tragic ending).

We had a brilliant computing lesson on Monday, where we all wrote our own blog pages to contribute to a class blog called ‘Our Favourite Things’. We were able to comment on all our friends’ blogs, which we enjoyed.
