Friday 29th April 2022

Hello parents and carers,

Our first full week has gone by and we have all been having a very busy time since coming back after the Easter Holidays.

We have been learning about the wonderful story ‘Grandad’s Island’ and been enjoying lots of different kinds of experiences to do with the story so far. Today we had to pretend we were on the ship’s deck, going on a journey.  We were all given a photo of one of the many different islands in the Pacific Ocean.  Then we went ‘across the seas’ (around the school!) to find that island.

In Maths, we have been working on fractions– we are getting really good at understanding what half, quarter and a third of shapes means.  Next we will be looking at fractions of numbers and how this links to division.

Mrs Morel is going to be putting the homework on Seesaw so watch out for that and our stunning start will be next week – Friday 6th May.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend.

See you next time!
