Friday 10th March 2023

In Maths, we are understanding how arrays represent repeated addition and multiplication.

Here is a great photo demonstrating 4 different arrays all representing 30 counters.

In English, following on from our “Farmer Duck” work, we have read two more books – Michael Morpurgo’s “The Birthday Duck” and a version of the traditional tale “The Little Red Hen”. We have been learning about writing alternative endings and will write a book review to explain which is our favourite story out of the three books.

It has been an amazing few days recently with the exciting weather and today was our “Marvellous Middle”.  We got to: -

  • Watch Eric Carle’s “The Tiny Seed” and make predictions about what would happen next in the story.

  • Design the decoration for a plant pot

  • Decorate our own plant pot using acrylic paint.

  • Plant a sunflower seed

  • Plant a test sunflower seed

  • Plant a broad bean seed (in a bag with cotton wool in it)

  • Finish watching Eric Carle’s “The Tiny Seed” and see if any of our predictions about what would happen next were right.

Here are some more photos from the day.

Best wishes to you,
