Friday 14th May 2021

It’s time for another update from us in Lion class. As we write we have come to school in our PJs for Pyjamarama day! This is to raise money for a fantastic charity, ‘The Book Trust’.

We have all been trying really hard to give our ‘Daily Mile’ a brilliant effort recently. We are aiming to find a good, steady jogging pace which we can sustain for the whole 15 minutes, rather than stopping and starting. Mrs Smith is thrilled with our efforts and lots of us are beginning to notice an improvement in our stamina and fitness.

In Maths we have moved on to a new topic and are learning all about properties of shape. This week we have been angels as we learn about angles. We have been really getting the measure of using a protractor, to such a degree that we are almost experts!

Our English lessons have been all about learning some creative writing techniques, which we are now putting into practise writing a third person narrative inspired by our class novel ‘Who Let The Gods Out’. We are trying to include descriptive phrases, correctly punctuated dialogue and interesting sentence openers.

Next week, we hope we will be able to show you some photographs of our Greek pot artwork, which we have just started.

That’s it for this week. More news next Friday.
