As we write today, it is “Break the Rules Day!” It is really fun – we hope we can do this again some time soon!

Over the recent days, we have done some drama based on the sea animals in the story “Commotion in the Ocean”. We worked together in small groups and had to wear the masks we chose to make. Based on the sea creatures in the story, we had to move around our ocean and used different voices. We liked moving around best!

This term we are learning about the craftsperson and artist Abigail Mill. She creates embroidered, applique products. Her work is often based on seaside scenes. So we have created some fabulous beach huts using this style. We have used different fabrics (which we are going to sew later). We’ll show you some photos of them when they are finished!

We have also created some fantastic Seahorse Art. We learnt how to use a template. It took a lot of patience as we used our skills to cut and stick little pieces of paper from magazines and colourful squares to create a creative and detailed picture.

We had to think carefully about the colours and sizes of our mosaic “tiles”.
