What a busy term it has been!
Recently we did another Robotics workshop. This time we made fighting robots.
In English, we have finished a brilliant book called 'Letters From the Lighthouse' and we have produced lots of pieces of writing from this. We have also used a short film called 'The Piano' as inspiration for our writing.
In maths we have learnt about number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division and fractions. We are getting better every day!
In science, we have started using a resource called Kapow and our units this term have been about materials. We have learnt about mixtures and separation, hardness and transparency.
In art we have done pieces of work related to our WWII topic, having been inspired by the work of John Piper, an artist and designer of the time.
Our DT topic is all about bridges. We have been making our own bridges (out of spaghetti!) and load testing them.
We have voted for our school council for this year and we have also got our additional Y6 jobs in place, such as Head Boy, Head Girl and House Captains/Deputy House Captains.
The year 7 children came back to see us earlier in the term. They are looking very grown up and enjoying life at Sharnbrook.
We had a special visitor a few weeks ago. Des, a Keysoe resident, came to tell us all about her experiences in World War Two. She was evacuated and so had lots of stories to tell us. We loved listening to her. She even brought us some treats to eat!
We also saw Des again, when we went to sing at the WI Christmas party. We think they all enjoyed it!
This afternoon we are walking to the church for our Christingle service, which should be lovely. Tomorrow is our panto trip to Milton Keynes and then we break up on Thursday.
