Monkeys Class blog

Friday 13th June
What an exciting week we've had in Monkeys Class! Our learning has taken us deep under the sea as we've dived into the wonderful story Tiddler by Julia Donaldson. The children absolutely loved hearing all about Tiddler’s tales and used their imaginations to create their own sea adventures!
As part of our Literacy learning, the children wrote heartfelt messages in a bottle to their families. It was so lovely to see their developing writing skills and hear the thoughtful things they wanted to share. We carefully rolled them up and imagined them floating off across the waves!
In Art, we had so much fun creating our own jellyfish masterpieces! The children painted the jellyfish bodies using bright, beautiful colours and then worked on their fine motor skills by threading wool and beads to make tentacles. It was a great way to strengthen those little fingers while making something wonderful to display in our classroom.
Over in Maths, we’ve been exploring sharing and grouping using sea-themed objects like shells, fish, and starfish. The children have been brilliant at working together to solve problems and learning how to share objects fairly between friends (and even imaginary sea creatures!).
In PE, we’ve been practising our sports day skills, and wow – we’ve got some speedy runners, careful egg-and-spoon balancers, and determined team players in our class! We can't wait to show off what we’ve learnt on the big day.
It’s been a week full of creativity, learning, and lots of smiles. Well done, Monkeys – you’ve made a big splash this week!
