Monkeys Class Blog – A Week of Aussie Adventures and Summer Fun! 🐒
What a brilliant week we've had in Monkeys Class!
We began by diving into the beautiful story Where the Land Meets the Sea, which inspired lots of fantastic learning about Australia. The children loved discovering fascinating facts about Australian animals – from bouncing kangaroos to sleepy koalas and sneaky crocodiles! They shared their ideas confidently and showed great curiosity.
We also explored Aboriginal art and decorated our very own boomerangs using dot painting techniques. The children were so focused and creative, producing some truly colourful and thoughtful designs.
In maths, we explored repeating patterns. The Monkeys did an amazing job creating their own patterns using colours, shapes, and even natural materials from our garden!
We were lucky enough to watch the KS2 end-of-year performance this week too. The children sat beautifully and were captivated by the singing and dancing – they can’t wait to do their own performances one day!
To top it all off, we made the most of the lovely sunshine with outdoor play and harvested some of our carrots and beans from the garden. The children were so proud to see the results of their hard work!
Well done, Monkeys – another fantastic week of learning, laughter, and growing together!
