Mrs Smith’s mum gave a really interesting talk about her childhood holidays.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Monkeys joined up with Meerkats to hear all about what seaside holidays used to be like.  It was so interesting to hear all about the seaside town of Skegness and what is different and what is the same about holidays now and seventy years ago.

The children love having visitors and enjoyed asking Mrs Smith’s mum lots of questions to find out, first-hand, about the “past, within our living memories”.

It has certainly made our “History learning” more meaningful!

Going forwards through the term, we will be learning more about habitats in Science; how to be a good citizen in P.S.H.E; rapid recall of the 2, 5 and 10 times table; Punch and Judy puppets; comparing seaside towns and some revision of our ICT skills learnt throughout this year.

Mrs Morel is looking forward to being able to spend more time outside in the School Garden, where the children can enjoy outdoor learning.  It’s going to be a busy but really fun rest of the term.  The children are looking forward to making the most of their last few weeks in Year 2, before moving onto the next part of their learning journey.

Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine everyone!

Love from the Meerkats x
