Hi there!

We have been making up poems based on the book “In Comes the Tide”,  by Colin and Valerie King.  We had partners and wrote our poems together, sharing our ideas with each other.

Our poems are really great. They describe all the things the tide brings in and all the things the tide takes out.  One poem was twenty four lines long! We even managed to make some lines rhyme ( sometimes, we needed a little help with this!)

Reciting our poem to the class!

We have been doing a lot of addition in Maths.  Our target is to be able to add 2 digit numbers to 2 digit numbers – in our heads!! We are getting there and everyone in the class hopefully will soon be experts.  We are getting brilliant at TT Rock Stars.  Mrs Beard and Mrs Morel are super proud of our amazing efforts.

Based on the story “Commotion in the Ocean”, by Giles Andreiou, we wrote some super sentences, thinking about verbs, adverbs and describing words (adjectives).  Here is Ornella’s example: “The spotty, bumpy seahorse spins happily in the turqoise, bubbly sea”. Here is Anthony’s example: “The massive shark travels slowly through the light blue sea”.
