A very sparkly, embroidered beach hut in the style of Abigail Mill

Hello everyone!

As usual, we have had a busy time.  Last Friday afternoon, we had Sports Day.  It was really fun.. We did running, skipping and egg and spoon races.  There was even an obstacle race with sacks!

Here are the house captains announcing the winning house- Stocker!

Everyone played their part and showed good sports values.

Cooking Club is going so well!  Seven children in Meerkats’ class made fruit kebabs this week.  They looked delicious!

It was amazing on Thursday because we had a LIVE ZOOM with Anthony’s Uncle in Minnesota, America! The time in Minnesota was six hours behind our time so it was only 8 O’Clock in the morning for our Virtual Visitor! His name is Matt and he works as a Marine Biologist (he used to manage Minessota SEA LIFE CENTRE) so he was able to tell us all about Sea animals.  He works with Polar Bears now and his favourite sea animals are sea lions. He told us some WOW facts about all sorts of sea animals. One of the adventures he told us about was meeting an eight foot long fish, in a shipwreck at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in the Phillipines. Exciting!

We had a lovely time in the hall listening to the Key Stage 2 children playing violins and the piano.  Such talented children!  Mrs Morel was very proud of how beautifully everyone sat and listened.

The children have done lots of computing on Purple Mash this week.  They have been learning about Coding, Internet Research, Online Safety, Sending Emails and having fun too, exploring and playing Maths games.

In Maths we have been re-capping O’Clock and solving time problems involving hours.

In English we have been planning a book review.  The story is ‘Sharing a Shell’ by Julia Donaldson.

Right now, as we write, it’s the much look forwarded to event of the week…ice-cream Friday.  The children are so lucky and want to say a big THANK YOU to all the helpers who make this possible.

The children have finished their beach huts! Their sewing skills were great.

Well done children.

(Thanks to Miss Allison for all her lovely help with these!)

The children have been celebrating England’s victory on Wednesday! They have been singing ‘Football’s coming home’ with great gusto.

We wish them so much luck on Sunday.  Come on England!
