Welcome to Lion Class blog- how is it Friday again already?

In our English lessons we have been loving our novel this term, which is Letters From The Lighthouse by Emma Carroll. We have done some brilliant diary writing this week, writing as one of the characters- the lighthouse keeper, Ephraim Pengilly. We have had to work hard on getting the right tone to portray his character and on our editing skills too.

We have started a Science unit on Light. There is lots to learn and so far we have worked on answering the questions: What is light? What is reflection?

This half term our RE topic is Faith in Islam. We have learned about The Hajj (a holy pilgrimage to Mecca) and Ramadan. We are so lucky that we get to learn about this from Mrs Rahman as she knows everything!

On Tuesday, we were pleased to get back to our Forest School lesson, but not so pleased when the heavens opened and we got drenched! It was a lesson in being prepared- as the saying goes, ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing!’

We are all very excited to find out who the Head Boy and Head Girl are going to be. All of the staff have voted and Mrs Smith will announce it when the badges arrive. Oh the tension!
