This week has been a busy week. We have been working hard to do some practice SATs tests, both English and Maths. Meanwhile, we have been working on time, o'clock and half past. We also started a new text - The whale's song. It is a beautiful story. We have been exploring character profiles and engaging in hot seating. On Wednesday we were joined by a robotics specialist who delivered an excellent afternoon of lessons, creating robots and programming. On Friday we had a fun afternoon, dancing, playing and making memories. We wish you a lovely half-term break, whatever you get up to! Please remember to read it. This could be any text you have at home.

A quick note to say goodbye & thank you for a wonderful time at Kymbrook. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your children and teaching them. They are a fantastic bunch of children. I'm sure they will continue to achieve great things. Lots of love - Miss Longworth.

Last week was a shorter week with the bank holiday but we made the most of our time, focusing again on fractions -halves, quarters and thirds. This week we have changed our mathematic topic to Time, so if you can, please have a chat with your child about o'clock and half past. We also had an important visit from Charlotte from the NSPCC, which was a great reminder of our rights to be safe.

Furthermore, we had some great celebrations on VE day! This week we have continued with the rainbow fish and engaged in a 'hot seating' activity, which was good fun.

A reminder for hats please and a full bottle of water to be brought every day - thank you!

We wish you a wonderful week, enjoying the sunshine!

    Miss Longworth & Mrs Rahman.

    Week Beginning 17th March 2025

This week in Meerkat class we have been very busy! In Maths we began the topic of mass, comparing objects using the vocabulary lighter and heavier. We will soon be weighing objects and measuring in grams. In English we have been focusing on verbs, identifying them and coming up with our own. Our grammar focus this week has been types of sentences: statements, commands, exclamations and questions. In Science we’ve been looking at our beans and tracking the growth. We’ve recently been given the opportunity to improve our school garden, where the children have expressed their preferences for a fairy garden and various plants. We hope to be using the garden as much as possible, given this beautiful Spring weather. Just a reminder, please read with your children at least 3 times a week and record this in their reading records. Thank you for your warm welcome to Kymbrook Primary School – Miss Longworth.
