We have been so busy!

Last week we had a wonderful visit to the 'Faith Tour' in the Queen's Park area of Bedford. We were able to spend some time in three different places of worship - a church, a mosque and a gurdwara. It was fascinating and so good to see some of the things we have been learning in our RE lessons, in real life!

This week we have been doing a lot of science lessons. Our topic is Light and we have done quite a few practical activities and experiments to learn about how we see, what reflection and refraction are and about the colours of the spectrum.

In our Wednesday PE lessons, we have been making up a dance in groups or pairs. We are really enjoying this.

Today, we held a two minute silence as our act of remembrance, to remember all the people who fought in conflicts including World War 1 and 2. All week, the Year 6 children have been selling poppies and other items for the Poppy Appeal. We managed to sell lots of items from the box and know that the money goes to a good cause.

Also today, we had a special visitor in Lion class. Des is a lady who lives in our village and she came to tell us all about her memories of being a little girl during the war. We are so lucky to be able to hear about her real life experiences. We were very excited to hear that she herself had been evacuated from London to North Wales as an 8 year old. This visit has really brought our learning about World War Two to life and we are so pleased that she could visit us.  Thank you Des.
